Senior Caregiver

Position Summary
The Senior Caregiver is an experienced care professional who provides compassionate, dependable, non-medical in-home support while modeling PureJoy's standards of professionalism, communication and client-centered service.
The Senior Caregiver may be assigned to clients requiring an experienced caregiver and may help support caregiver orientation, peer guidance and service consistency under the direction of PureJoy management.
This is not a nursing or independent clinical decision-making position.
Primary Responsibilities
In addition to all Caregiver responsibilities — companionship, approved activities of daily living, meal preparation, medication reminders within the permitted non-medical scope, light housekeeping, accurate documentation, and prompt reporting — the Senior Caregiver will:
- Model PureJoy's standards of compassion, professionalism and reliability
- Support clients whose service plans require an experienced caregiver
- Help new caregivers understand client routines and approved service expectations
- Provide non-supervisory peer guidance when assigned by management
- Help reinforce proper documentation, punctuality and professional communication
- Communicate client concerns promptly to the appropriate PureJoy supervisor
- Assist management with approved caregiver orientation or shadowing activities
- Help maintain continuity during caregiver transitions
- Identify potential safety or service-quality concerns and report them immediately
- Participate in quality-improvement discussions when requested
- Maintain professional boundaries with clients, families and team members
- Follow all company policies, service plans and escalation procedures
This role does not include authority to diagnose medical conditions, change a client's care plan independently, provide skilled nursing services, administer medications outside the legally permitted scope, discipline or terminate employees, make clinical decisions, or promise services or pricing to clients.
Senior Caregiver Qualifications
- At least 18 years old
- Authorized to work in the United States
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Two or more years of caregiving experience preferred
- Demonstrated record of punctuality, dependability and professional conduct
- Experience assisting seniors or adults with personal-care needs
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to document services accurately
- Ability to support and encourage other caregivers professionally
- Willingness to complete required background and registry checks
- Dependable transportation to client locations
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving history when driving is required
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred or required by company policy
- CNA certification preferred but not required for every non-medical assignment
- Dementia-care or memory-support experience preferred
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the role, with reasonable accommodation where applicable
Senior-level designation does not authorize clinical practice or activities outside the employee's credentials, training, assignment and PureJoy's legally permitted scope of service.

Working Conditions
This role may require:
- Standing and walking for extended periods
- Bending, reaching and assisting with mobility
- Traveling to client homes
- Working around household pets
- Working daytime, evening, overnight, weekend or holiday shifts
- Assisting with transfers or movement only within the caregiver's training, capability and approved assignment
