Caregiver

Position Summary

PureJoy Home Health is seeking compassionate, dependable caregivers to provide non-medical in-home support to seniors and adults. The Caregiver helps clients maintain their dignity, comfort, safety and independence while following the client's approved service plan.

This position is ideal for someone who is patient, attentive, respectful and passionate about improving the everyday lives of others.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide respectful companionship and meaningful social engagement
• Assist clients with approved activities of daily living
• Help with bathing, dressing, grooming and personal routines when included in the service plan
• Assist with walking, positioning, transfers and mobility within the caregiver's training and approved responsibilities
• Prepare simple meals and assist with mealtime routines
• Provide medication reminders within PureJoy policies and the permitted non-medical scope
• Perform light housekeeping related to the client's immediate living environment
• Assist with laundry, linen changes and maintaining a safe, organized home
• Accompany clients on approved errands or appointments when authorized
• Observe and promptly report changes in a client's condition, behavior or environment
• Document completed services accurately and on time
• Follow the client's service plan and PureJoy policies
• Maintain client privacy and confidentiality
• Report incidents, concerns, suspected abuse, neglect or exploitation immediately
• Communicate professionally with clients, family members and the PureJoy care team
• Arrive on time and notify the office immediately about emergencies or unavoidable delays
• Follow infection-prevention, emergency-preparedness and safety procedures

Caregiver Qualifications

• At least 18 years old
• Authorized to work in the United States
• Compassionate, patient and respectful
• Able to communicate clearly and professionally
• Able to follow written service plans and instructions
• Able to complete required documentation
• Able to perform the essential functions of the role, with reasonable accommodation where applicable
• Willing to complete required background and registry checks
• Dependable transportation to assigned client locations
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving history when the assignment requires driving
• Previous caregiving experience is welcomed but may not be required for every assignment
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred or required based on company policy and assignment
• CNA certification is welcomed but is not required for all non-medical caregiver positions

Final qualifications, training requirements and assignments will depend on company policy, applicable law and individual client needs.

Working Conditions

This role may require:

• Standing and walking for extended periods
• Bending, reaching and assisting with mobility
• Traveling to client homes
• Working around household pets
• Working daytime, evening, overnight, weekend or holiday shifts
• Assisting with transfers or movement only within the caregiver's training, capability and approved assignment
